Pastor Appreciation

The Power of WE

My husband Mark and I absolutely love babies and toddlers. Around our house, we call them “wee little ones.”

That's wee with two e's.

Pastors, I want to encourage you with a different we. The one with just a single e.

I’d like to show you a beautiful picture of what happens when WE work together. The local church and the ministry of CHOICES, each doing what God has called us to do.

Dozens of local churches contribute incredibly generous financial support. Although we are certainly grateful for that. I want to thank you for something much bigger.

Pastors, what you do goes deeper and wider than you will ever know this side of Heaven.

Let me give you a few examples.

Our Board of Directors is made up of members from eight different churches. Their pastors have encouraged them, equipped them, and helped prepare their hearts to use their time, talents, and treasure for Kingdom work.

CHOICES is strong and sustainable because these men and women answered God's call to lead. But they were prepared to answer that call, in part, because of the investment their pastors had already made in their lives.

Our staff members come from nine different churches. And we have pastors who shepherd us with grace, encouragement, and accountability.

I get to work alongside these amazing sisters every day. I see their compassion, their commitment, and their love for Jesus. And I know that what I see is, in part, the fruit of faithful pastors who have poured into their lives.

And then there are our 85 regular volunteers, who come from about 30 different churches.

That's 30 congregations where pastors have been faithfully preaching the Word, encouraging believers to use their gifts, and, as Paul told Timothy, fan into flame the gifts God has given them.

And those volunteers take that fire right through the doors of CHOICES.

Every day, women and men across Southern Indiana are met in their brokenness with practical expressions of the love of Jesus—and with the life-changing truth of the Gospel.

And here's what I really want you to hear:

That's fruit from YOUR ministry, too.

We absolutely celebrate the more than 1,200 clients we've served over the past 12 months. And we rejoice over the 149 babies saved during that same time.

But behind those numbers are people. People who were loved, encouraged, equipped, and introduced to hope because the Body of Christ showed up.

And that's WE.

Of course, the work isn't finished. And we still need your help!

We need more volunteers—both women and men—to teach group classes and mentor moms and dads.

We need your prayers as we work to reach even more women who are considering abortion.

Let me leave you with this.

Our doors are open in three beautiful facilities because God's people give generously.

But the ministry that happens inside those doors is carried out by people YOU have helped equip.

Every day, far beyond the walls of your churches, your faithfulness is bearing fruit. Babies are being saved. Families are being strengthened. And the Gospel is being proclaimed.

You may never meet many of those families. You may never hold those babies. You may never hear their stories this side of Heaven.

But God knows. And we see the fruit of your faithfulness every single day.

Pastor, I hope you are encouraged. The Board, staff, and volunteers of CHOICES see you, we appreciate you, and we are eternally grateful for you.

Because this ministry has never been about what CHOICES can do alone.

It's about what God is doing through WE—all of us, working together for His glory.

Thank you for being such a beautiful part of that WE.
